Today, Thursday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that it had declared seven Danish diplomats "persona non grata".
This decision comes in response to Copenhagen's expulsion of 15 Russian diplomats last month, while Moscow also objected to Denmark providing military aid to Ukraine.
The ministry said Denmark's anti-Russian policy is seriously damaging bilateral relations and that Russia reserves the right to take further steps in response.
The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed in a statement that it had been notified of the expulsion of 4 diplomats and 3 other employees of its embassy in Moscow.
"It is a completely unjustified and problematic decision, which confirms that Russia no longer really wants dialogue or diplomacy," Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod said.
