Deputy Chairman of the Russian National Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, warned that a European country is impeding the entry of Russian goods into a pocket belonging to Moscow and overlooking the Baltic Sea.

Medvedev said that Lithuania bears full responsibility for the repercussions of its decision to prevent the passage of Russian goods from its territory towards the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad, indicating that Vilnius does not stop to think about it, according to the Russian official TASS news agency.

Russian Foreign Ministry: NATO is teetering on the brink of armed conflict with Russia

He added, "Even explanations that Lithuania only implements the decisions taken by the European Union do not help here," noting that the European Union has not insisted on steps such as banning the transit of goods that Lithuania insists on.

Earlier, Lithuania announced a ban on the transit of goods by train to and from the Russian region between Lithuania and Poland, which other Russian regions cannot reach through Lithuania, and attributed the decision to the EU sanctions rules.

The Kremlin strongly condemned Lithuania's imposition of restrictions on the movement of goods from Russia to Kaliningrad, and considered them an unprecedented blockade and a violation of rules and laws.
