Storyboarding method

$5/hr Starting at $25

Comics know the way to our hearts, because those cartoons are able to make us feel joy and sadness, hate, excitement and other emotions, so no one can deny the power of comics.  The idea of making your very first comic book is exciting, and it's easier than you think.  All you have to do is let yourself be creative to create a great story and your own unique style, from here you can start making a draft before drawing, then working on storyboarding, then inking and then final coloring the story.  By completing these steps, you will be able to publish your finished masterpiece online or maybe even print it on paper

1—Write down the basics.  Simply put, storyboarding is a process of storytelling through sequential images called frames or panels, each frame of which must contain that forward-moving sense.  This means that comics are not different from other types of storytelling, and therefore you have to follow some basic conventions when it comes to writing.

*Place.  Every story is located somewhere, even if the background is just white, it counts as a place.  A setting is the background frame that contains your characters' actions, and depending on your story, that background may become an integral part of your storytelling

*Characters.  Undoubtedly, you need characters to implement your ideas, to move events, for dialogue to take place on their tongues, and for readers to relate to them.  The development of characters over time is critical to the making of tall stories

*conflict.  Every story needs a conflict driven, “Why do the characters do what they do?”  This is the foundation of any story, this can be as simple as checking the mail or as complex as saving the universe.

*the main ideas.  The main idea is the one that moves the moments up to the main event moment, and it's the ideas you present to your readers.  If you were writing comic strips, what was the nature of the jokes?  If you were writing a love story, what lessons would you learn from love?

*method.  It's the soul of your comic.  Do you write comedy?  Is your story based on drama?  Perhaps you like to write political cartoons.  You have endless possibilities where you can combine comedy and drama, make it a black comedy or something else;  Maybe write a romantic or political thriller.

*Your style is expressed through dialogue, narrative text, and images.

2—Write about what you know.  Write about what you know to make your writing sound more realistic and authentic.  This helps you maintain a unique style in your writing, and prevents you from copying ideas from other books

3—Decide on the shape and style.  You should choose the style of graphics when creating a comic, as it is the first thing readers look at in your book.  Choose a style that matches your entire vision for your storyboard.

*Experiment with different styles until you find one that feels consistent with what you draw and write. There are many popular styles that you can practice and adapt to your desired goal. Here are some examples:

Japanese anime and manga.

 .superheroes

 .clipart

.the White and the black

 .Token sticks (stick figures)

.graphics

*Drama requires a more elaborate visual style than comedy. But as with every rule, there are always exceptions

4—Choose an appropriate format. There is no consensus on the choice of format in comics, they are usually confined to three categories "single frame", "strip" or "full page". Experiment with different looks until you find what works best for your story, characters, and vision

. Dedicating one frame to comic strips is the most common thing. The comedy doesn't require a lot of setup, and relies on visual jokes without needing a lot of dialogue, perhaps a line or two. It is difficult to create a narrative with a single frame, so one or two frames are often used in political comics.

. A storyboard is a series of frames.  There is no set length for the tape, but it is usually one or two lines and two to four frames each.  This method is becoming increasingly popular with online comics and daily newspaper jokes, because it allows storytelling to grow while being short enough to be produced regularly.

. A full page storyboard is a bigger job than a strip It gives you more freedom to manipulate frames, but you need more content on every page A full page is the result of working on a comic book or graphic novel, because you're cutting a longer, more story coherence.
