Tele2 Russia files lawsuit against Nokia

Tele2 Russia is reportedly suing Finnish vendor Nokia, claiming the company failed to complete network contracts, as Nokia announced previously it would cease business in Russia due to the invasion of Ukraine.

ComNews reported Tele2 applied to the Moscow Court of Arbitration to recover €7.2 million and US$2.6 million from Nokia.

Tele2 said in a translated statement, the lawsuit is due to Nokia’s refusal to fulfil its contracts for orders made long before the imposition of sanctions on Russia. It also claimed Nokia has not responded to its appeals or offered any alternative settlements.

The court is proceeding with the case and scheduled a preliminary hearing. Tele2 has also applied for the legal right to seize assets and properties that are within its claim.
