The former England player: I need a live

$50/hr Starting at $50

former England footballer Kiron Dyer has revealed that he needs to undergo a liver transplant to survive.

Dyer had a rare condition called primary sclerosing cholangitis, a disease that leads to cirrhosis of the liver and thus the need for a new organ transplant.

Dyer has been on the waiting list for 6 months, and promises his future donor that he will make better use of his organ for the rest of his life.

"If I had not undergone a transplant, my liver would be depleted, and there would be nothing they could do for me," Dyer told the British newspaper, the Daily Mail.

Dyer awaits a fateful call from Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, cannot be away from the hospital for more than two hours, and must carry his phone at all times and be available in case a sudden donor appears.

Dyer continues: "Some people who are waiting for an organ transplant have only weeks to live. Right now my strength is failing, but I don't urgently need a transplant, so I might wait a few months until my liver really deteriorates and they call me. There aren't enough livers for people in need." .

He added, "I am grateful that they found out about my disease. I understand that I am relying on someone else's misfortune to give me the opportunity to live a long and happy life. This is my greatest hope, and the person I will get a liver will be proud of. I intend to connect with the donor's family after the operation."

He admitted, "It would be a consolation to me if I was in the situation of a family who had lost a loved one. They would have lost someone they loved, but they so generously gave someone else the chance of a long life. I hope to win their legacy, I don't want to spoil it, I know the value of second chances." .

He revealed, "I was terrified when they told me I needed a liver transplant, I thought it was the end. But then I met the surgeon, transplant team, coordinators, local, qualified psychiatrists, people who had successful surgeries, it's a routine in the hospital now."
