Rolani Mokoena, coach of the South African Sundowns team, stated about the big gap between his team and its rival Al-Ahly, before the meeting that will bring the two teams together next Saturday afternoon, in the fourth round of the African Champions League competition.

Mokoena said, in statements during his interview with the South African newspaper "ewn", that despite the large gap between Al-Ahly and Sundowns in terms of experience, he has a clear position, which is to achieve success.

The coach of the Sundowns team added that his team must go through the challenges and difficulties of the African Champions League competition, pointing out that he is happy to be at the head of the technical staff of the current South African league leaders.

The Sundowns team leads the South African league standings for the 2022-2023 season, with 56 points, 17 points ahead of the second-placed Super Sport team, after 22 rounds of competition.

And the Sundowns coach moved away from the management making huge deals in terms of material value, the latest of which was the contract with the Chilean player Marcelo Allende for approximately three million dollars in the summer of 2022.

Mokoena responded to this point, that the technical staff has a management that wants to place Sundowns among one of the greatest clubs in the continent and the world as well.

And the Sundowns coach finished by setting an example about Chelsea management, saying: "Let's see Chelsea FC, for example, and the huge spending in terms of deals in the last period."

The confrontation between Al-Ahly and Sundowns is the second in the current season, as the first match ended in Cairo with a score of 2-2 in the accounts of the third round, as the Egyptian team ranks third in its group with four points, compared to seven points for the South African champion.

The Sudanese team Al-Hilal leads the second group standings with nine points from four matches, in contrast, Sundowns comes second, then Al-Ahly, and the Cameroonian cotton team bottoms the standings without any points after losing in four matches.

Al-Ahly is scheduled to play against Sundowns in South Africa, then fly to Cameroon to meet Al-Qattan, and finally host Al-Hilal team in Cairo on the first of next April.
