The Omicron mutant of the Corona virus is still prevalent in most parts of the world, driving new waves of infections in various countries.

The course of infection with the Corona virus depends on an immune system that participates in the formation of many genes, so some patients suffer from a serious course and others tolerate the disease mildly.

The Russian virologist and head of the laboratory at the Institute of Molecular Biology, Pyotr Chumakov, stated that patients with chronic cardiovascular diseases, such as diabetes and others, and the elderly often fall victim to the "Omicron" mutant.

According to the virologist, there is the example of the Russian politician, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, who found himself unable to conquer the infection despite taking many vaccines and the efforts of Russian doctors, according to "Russia Today".

The doctor added that there are exceptions to the aforementioned rule, for example, an elderly patient can bear the disease lighter, compared to a middle-aged patient.

And it depends on the peculiarities of his immune system, in the formation of which a large number of genes are involved, so each patient suffers differently. The doctor advised those who are afraid of the consequences of the Corona virus to undergo vaccination.
