I am both a developer and designer, with a long career in both fields, working in a variety of roles - currently as a full time freelancer where I have flexibility to fill both roles. Before I started working primarily with WordPress, already as a full time web developer and designer, I built custom CMS based website solutions for customers with PHP, MySQL, HTML5/CSS3, and jQuery. Over time, I found that I could offer more value at a lower price-point by customizing off the shelf CMS systems, like WordPress, with themes and plugins, either by building them from scratch or altering existing code. Lately I work almost exclusively with WordPress development, but have a very versatile technical background. I have background and education in both Computer Science and Design and have academic degrees in both, which is a combination of abilities in this field that is usually divided between two people. I develop themes from scratch, derived child-themes, and custom plugins for WordPress solutions as they are used most appropriately in the architecture of the code constructed.
