Life is too important to always be serious about it. Poignant humor is often the best way to diplomatically make one realize how irrational some of our accepted norms and ways of thinking actually are. Besides humor helping one to swallow the bitter pill of how stupid one's (or other's) present thoughts and actions may be, it also resonates with our original character and we remember the humorous story and the point it makes (as a fellow named Aesop found out a few years back). Advertising, behavior modification, self-awareness, management,....in just about any field there is a universe of the creative use of humor to help the humane endeavor - whatever that particular human endeavor may be. I have made far to many mistakes in my life and have become an absolute world expert in how funny and serious life really is. Have a Bachelors in Psychology (with a minor in Physics), an MBA,have worked in 12 countries, and am now semi-retired just loving to write. Prefer to work "by the task" rather than "by the hour" and have sasfied clients.
