In 1998 I started, The Sandland Group, LLC, which provided web design and marketing services. By late 2001, I had many clients in several niche markets including Industrial & commercial boilers, industrial and commercial pumps, Arabian horses, private associations, and small business enterprises across the USA and Canada. Around mid-2002 I started traveling to national and international conventions in the fields I was servicing to consulting on internet marketing and web design, and by late 2003 I was doing an equal business in print design and marketing. The business continued to expand throughout the next six years as I continued to assist business of all sizes find their voice through developing effective and multi-channel communication and marketing strategies, focused on reaching their target audiences. In addition to doing all of the normal work a DD, I also helped organize a Capital Campaign for the organization’s new shelter, that raised over $600,000 - a good portion of which came through successful grant writing. While I was employed with the agency, I was also certified in Dynamics of Domestic Violence, Basic Advocacy, and Legal Advocacy by the state of Arkansas.
