Writing has long been a passion of mine. I am a professed grammar 'nerd', a stickler for detail and perfection and good writing. You will also be pleased to hear that I am able spot an oxford comma out of place, or a split infinitive a mile away. During my time as a university student, I honed my skills in academic writing and editing. Since graduating I have contributed to a number environmentally-focussed newspaper and academic articles. Following my graduation, I strode boldly into a career in Environmental and Climate Change consulting. This was fun; I got to write project documents in which I told countries what they should do to adapt to climate change effectively and why certain policies needed to be revised. I now work at a carbon management and reporting consultancy and write numerous reports for some of South Africa's blue-chip companies. Throughout my professional career I have derived the most joy out of editing my colleagues work. I have aided numerous colleagues in refining their writing to client specification and delivering polished copy back to them under tight deadlines. In my current role, I have assisted my employers with developing website content as well as other marketing and communication materials - such as company brochures, service leaflets and blog posts - which are easily accessible and understandable to a variety of audiences. Although I specialise in the environmental sphere, my interests are broad, and I would love to assist editing, writing and proofing on just about any topic.
