I enjoy writing fiction of all kinds. My expertise does not end there. I have worked an ICU for nearly three years. I work full time in patient care in the Medical ICU and Surgical ICU. I have experience with post thoracic surgery care, post general surgery care, ventilator management, sedation management, left ventricle assist device management, balloon pump management, therapeutic hypothermia management, post PTCA care, as well as general medical intensive care. Being a fast learner and good teacher, within one year I additionally became the educator/trainer on care for open heart surgeries and became a charge nurse. I am also a clinical coach, training all new hires. I coordinate the unit’s education from medical device suppliers. As part of performance improvement, I audit documentation and compliance on restraints, VTE prophylaxis, and sedation. I am the auditor in the Code Blue Review Committee, insuring that each code blue meets the Gold Standards set by the American Heart Association. Part of the auditing experience includes spreadsheet formation and data analysis. I also prepare presentations including graphs and data tables to easily represent current compliance and trends
