I recently moved fully into IT...
I have worked as a process engineer (manufacturing support engineer) in a multicultural corporate FMCG plant in the past four years, where I have developed leadership, communication and people management skills while working as part of team. I learnt to develop procedures and systems for running and maintaining equipment. I learnt to develop test plans and to write reports. I solved problems to their root and implemented systems to prevent a recurrence. I communicated and made presentations to leadership regularly.
Yet I have not been able to shake off my "techcentricity". Rather, I have continued working on/with computers alongside my primary my roles and have excelled in it. This exceptional aptitude for information technology has always been a key enabler for my work. However, I am more than just a technology end-user as I am always the first line of support for my colleagues on IT-related matters and ended up managing e-manufacturing systems for my departments.
So I have moved fully into IT on the strength of my passion and aptitude, my track record in proffering solutions to IT problems, and the skills developed so far.
