About

Editor | Artist | Consultant

As an avid reader, a self-proclaimed "devourer of books," I've learned that poor editing (or, in some cases, none at all) can and will destroy any piece of writing. For a writer, finding the right editor can seem like searching for Atlantis or the Holy Grail; and hiring an ill-equipped editor can do more harm to your work than publishing an unedited draft. Every writer has different needs, a different style, a different voice; and I will work with you to help you achieve your goal. Subtle, often overlooked, changes can significantly change the tone or meaning. Take, for example, the silly meme with two copies of the same words -- Lets eat grandpa -- the first is punctuated as follows: "Let's eat grandpa." The second: "Let's eat, grandpa." That small comma is all that determines if grandpa is a guest or if he IS dinner.

I've edited various documents including blog posts, articles, business writing (proposals, press releases, etc), books (both fiction and nonfiction), and numerous academic papers (from Undergraduate level assignments to Doctorate dissertations). I'm happy to work with you to meet the level of editing you need from a simple final proofread for overlooked spelling and grammar mistakes to substantive, deep editing for structural and content errors.

I attended Piedmont International University where received my B.A. in Christian Ministries with a specialization in Management for Nonprofit Organizations.

I currently reside in the very same house that I grew up in with my husband and son where I (still) play Skyrim, attempt to grow weird flowers and vegetables like okra and self-cultivated wild violets (are they still considered wild?), and strip copper wire out of old TVs to turn into wire tree sculptures.
