A creative mixed Media Artist with practice in the digital and and fine arts.

In high school was when I started thinking about art as more then just a craft or class and started appreciating the thought and talent that has to go into the work. I started thinking about art as a career.
When I started collage I wanted to improve my drawing/fine art portfolio and then apply for an art major, however during my first year I took a film class and started a new path. Film and video took over and I majored in Film/Video and Broadcasting for two years at Western Michigan University. Although I didn't get a degree, my time there got me ready to freelance on various films. I've shot, edited, directed, ran lighting and have done some sound in my years as freelance crew member. In many of my own shorts I used stop motion animation which lead me back to a more fine art path. I was able to draw my videos.
I went back to collage at Oakland University in Michigan and got a BA in Studio Art with a focus on New Media. While at school I learned some more video, photography techniques but also I took drawing, painting and other fine art classes as well. What I really enjoyed about that course of study was the mixing of traditional art with today's technology, which is what I apply to a lot of my work today.
