I'm a former military kid, so I grew up all over the world. I learned to love books early, and read voraciously everywhere I went. I was THAT kid, the one reading at recess, but I loved being in the outdoors and writing stories for my friends. In high school, I started working backstage in theatre and I got hooked; eventually my twin passions took me through a degree in English with a specialization in Creative Writing and a minor in Theatre. I've used my degree to teach theatre programming in outreach programs in the United States and Canada, where I have written over a dozen plays for production. To expand my skills and improve my writing, I went back to school and achieved a Certificate in Editing. Now I work as a freelance writer and editor.

My hobbies are hiking and knitting. The first derives from my lifelong passion for the outdoors. I find my solace in the woods, and I have learned to orient, camp, and survive in the outdoors in many different environments. The walking is a form of meditation and brings a rhythm to my life and work.
With regards to knitting, I have always been crafty and I have learned many handwork and DIY skills. I am a good cook, a decent painter, and a sometime jewelry designer. Knitting grabbed me when I was looking for a portable, versatile craft when my son was a baby, and it hasn't let go. My passion has gone so far that I have learned to spin and dye wool and process a fleece from its raw state. I have even run a hobby wool company, specializing in local and Canadian yarns. I have a tendency to let my passions take me where they will.

Writing is like that for me. I have never stopped writing, since my first diaries as a young child to my filled notebooks and files today. I write tens of thousands of words a year, just for the joy of it. I love written expression. Let me help you with what you need to say.
