I hold master’s degree in International Political Economy and over three years of international research-based experience with a diplomatic mission in Saudi Arabia as well as United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) among many others. These diverse opportunities have cultivated my knowledge and expertise in areas such as conducting research and translation, drafting correspondence, liaising with media and governmental institutions, and providing administrative and meetings support services. I am also fluent in Arabic and English and I have limited working knowledge of French, Turkish and Somali.

My previous research projects include a master's thesis on state-building in Somalia which addressed many key concepts such as capacity building, decentralization, DDR, rule of law, and role of international actors and local civil society organizations. I have also contributed to a research on state-building initiatives in MENA post Arab Uprisings in countries such as Egypt, Tunisia, Libya etc. (unpublished). Additionally, during my internship at UNDP, I conducted a background research on Islamic finance, impact investment and development which was incorporated in UNDP and Islamic Development Bank's publication titled "I for Impact: Blending Islamic Finance and Impact Investing for the Global Goals" (2014).
