About

Experienced forensic computing and cyber security developer

I started working in IT in 1998, with an NVQ in computer maintenance. From there I worked for ten years in a variety of IT support roles.

Then in 2008 I achieved my BSc (Hons) in Forensic Computing from the University of the West of England, Bristol.

I began working as a freelance contractor approximately one year ago, after leaving my job working with Huawei at their cyber security centre.

Forensics and cyber security are my main interests, but I am happy to work on any technology project that interests me. I have experience in the following:

C# .net
JavaScript
Python3
Full-stack development
Windows/Linux

And have developed projects related to:
Web scraping and data collection
Splunk integration
Parsing Apple health data
Carving internet artefacts from cache
Developing parsers for custom file/binary formats (VMDK, AFF4)
Developing parsers for handling a variety of file systems (NTFS, XFS)
Carving messages and contact details from chat applications (Facebook, Apple SMS)
Integrating with remote APIs
Networking PCAP analysis

Over the last year I have worked for a single client, providing around 20 unique tools and software projects to handle their needs. This is everything from writing a program to carve data from internet cache fragments, to developing a program that can extract chat messages and contacts from over 30 of the most popular messaging applications.

If you have a project in mind, and need someone reliable, always available, and professional, please do get in touch.
