About

Precise legal drafting and negotiation strategy for businesses and individuals. Clean documents, sharp positioning, and straight talk when the stakes are real.

I help businesses and individuals navigate the legal documents and negotiations that shape their lives — contracts, retainer agreements, settlement work, and the in-between paperwork most people would rather not handle alone.

My work falls into two main lanes:

Businesses and organizations. I draft and refine retainer agreements, service contracts, and the kind of internal documentation that keeps operations running cleanly as a company grows. I work across the size spectrum, from solo founders setting up their first formal engagement to organizations consolidating years of ad-hoc paperwork into something coherent.

Individuals navigating high-stakes personal matters. I support clients through divorce negotiations, settlement drafting, and family law disputes — typically in close coordination with their attorney of record. My focus is the strategic and document-level work: analyzing community property positions, identifying weak spots in the other side's posture, drafting separation agreements that anticipate the next twelve months of issues, and helping clients understand what a fair outcome actually looks like before they sign anything.

What I bring to both lanes:

Clear writing. I don't pad documents with boilerplate to look thorough. Tight, precise drafting protects you better than long drafting does.

Strategic thinking. I read negotiations the way a chess player reads a board — what's the next move, where is the other side actually weak, what should we be willing to trade?

Directness. When the other side is being evasive or playing games, I'll tell you plainly. When a position isn't going to hold up, I'll say so. I'd rather have a hard conversation early than watch a client get burned later.

I work fast, communicate honestly, and quote my work up front. If I'm not the right fit, I'll tell you that too.

Work Terms

Messages get a response within 24 hours on business days. For active negotiations or time-sensitive drafts, I'm available evenings and weekends by prior arrangement.
Engagement structures:

Flat-fee project work — best for discrete deliverables like a single contract draft, a retainer template, or a settlement agreement review. You'll get a written quote before any work begins.

Hourly engagements — best for negotiations, ongoing strategy work, and matters where the scope can't be fully defined up front. Billed in 15-minute increments with itemized invoices.

Monthly retainer — best for businesses that need ongoing drafting and review support. Three tiers available depending on volume; we'll match the tier to your actual needs.

Payment. Invoices issued at project completion (flat-fee), bi-weekly (hourly), or monthly (retainer). Net 14 terms. ACH, wire, and major credit cards accepted.

Communication. I prefer written messages for substantive discussion — it creates a clean record and gives both sides room to think before responding. Scheduled calls when a conversation actually needs to be a conversation. For active negotiations, I'll usually set up a shared document or thread so nothing falls through the cracks.

Scope note. For matters requiring court appearances, formal filings, or attorney-client privilege protection, I work alongside your attorney rather than in place of one. I'll tell you up front if a matter needs counsel I can't provide.
