I have been involved in the software development world since I was a kid, I took my first programming course when I was fourteen (14) years old, when I learned Basic, Dbase and Cobol; after that it has been a lifetime learning and programming in different languages: Pascal, Assembler, FoxPro, Visual Basic, Lotus Notes script and formula language, Java, JavaScript, and more recently PHP. I have also work with database engines like Microsoft’s SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL and lately I have been experimenting with MongoDB.
I am a quick learner and like to constantly learn new things. I learned Visual Basic, PHP, CSS, XSLT, SQL Server, MySQL and MongoDb by myself, without any formal training.
After four years of working experience as an employee mainly as a software developer, I managed the family business while working as an independent IT consultant. After that I founded a travel agency focused on business and VIP travelers.
During my last experience as an employee I was able to apply all my knowledge and experience as a Project Manager. I was involved in projects for the design and development of a HIS for a Private Hospital with presence in four cities in Venezuela. I was also involved in projects for the implementation of OPERA in a local hotel, the development of a new release of a mobile app and the design of a NBO software.
Currently, I see myself as the link between Management and IT, being able to identify business’ needs and translate them into technological terms for the IT areas.
