My journey from a dedicated Educator and Basketball Coach to a Full Stack Software Engineer is a testament to resilience, adaptability, and a passion for continuous learning. While I cherished my years fostering growth and collaboration in the academic and athletic arenas, evolving health conditions and the desire to relocate closer to family presented a pivotal moment, prompting a strategic pivot towards a career that aligns with my strengths and offers new avenues for impact.
My extensive experience in education honed a robust set of transferable skills directly applicable to software development. As an educator, I mastered breaking down complex concepts into digestible insights, a skill now invaluable in crafting clear, efficient code and collaborating within diverse development teams. My coaching career instilled strong leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving abilities, translating seamlessly into project management, debugging, and innovative solution design within the SDLC. Furthermore, my commitment to fostering positive team environments and effective communication, honed through years of guiding students and athletes, are core assets I bring to any software engineering team.
Driven by this new direction, I committed fully to mastering software engineering, culminating in a Full Stack Software Engineering certification from Coding Temple. Through intensive bootcamps and hands-on projects, I gained proficiency in modern technologies like React, Python, Flask, and cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, all while embracing agile methodologies and rigorous testing practices. I am now enthusiastic and prepared to leverage my unique blend of interpersonal and technical expertise to design, develop, and deploy innovative software solutions.
