Dynamic storyteller who is driven to uplift diverse stories and empower others through writing!

A homegrown Mississippian that lived on the outskirts of the state's capital, I initially wrote to slay fire-breathing dragons, to glue my heart back together after some guy broke it, and to paint a world far more interesting than the sleepy town I grew up in. Once I realized that I could write beyond myself during my time as editor-in-chief at Millsaps College, I married my love of writing with activism and purpose and ran full speed ahead with this new goal and approach to writing in mind. My work on systemic issues and Mississippi history topics ranging has seen publication in in Mississippi Today, Mississippi History Now, The Mississippi Center for Investigative Reporting, and The Mississippi Independent, where I am a regular freelancer. I also worked full-time as a public information officer for The Mississippi Department of Archives and History for nearly 3 years, writing and copy writing numerous press releases, media advisories, and social media posts on Mississippi history! So I have some experience in the PR world if you need a more technical, advertising voice.

Work Terms

Direct Deposit Required: 10% initial fee of total project cost to secure and confirm collaboration
Payment terms: Net 30 days
Standard rate: $250 per project. This is subject to change depending on the length and research needed.
Accepted payment methods: PayPal, Check, or Bank Transfer
Late Fee Penalty: 2% late fee for each month that a payment is delayed
Preferred communication style: Initial phone call or video call to talk logistics with subsequent check ins on project
Work schedule: Mondays to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. I'm currently contracted with another organization, so we'll have to iron out availability to meet the needs of the project.
