About

A millennial with an English degree. I specialize in writing walk-throughs (with diagrams), tutorials, and copy with a friendly/casual feel.

In my free time, I volunteer with a kpop fansubbing team called Beesubs. I am the English Grammar Admin, which means that I manage the members of the team who polish up the English grammar of translated texts after the translators are done with them. Since most of our translators speak English as a second or third language, this task is extremely important for producing clean, correct translations.

I was a 10th grade English teacher for about 5 weeks. Unfortunately, the school system that hired me was not well-off enough to provide the basic support their teachers need, and was exempted from many legal minimums due to budget constraints. Educators who stay in the field in those conditions are saints. I, admittedly, am no saint. A fresh college grad who majored in teaching and had no other experience may have stuck it out longer than I did. As a career-switcher with prior employment experience, however, I knew full well that the grass was much greener elsewhere. I have formal training in educational theory and would be passionate about writing assignments involving education reform, social issues, and the teaching profession.

My other formal employment experience outside of writing includes banking, debit card operations, debit and credit card fraud resolution, ATM setup/installation (back office, not on-site!), and legal mass-settlement claims resolution.
