I've worked in mortgage finance, in business journalism, and in academia as a teacher of writing and literature. I love learning about new industries and issues and communicating complexity in words that ordinary people understand and want to read.
I have a PhD in English from Cornell University and a master's in theological studies from Harvard Divinity School. I'm keenly interested in education, agriculture, and issues of science and faith. I write regularly on how to teach evolution to build faith for subscribers to www.teachingscienceandfaith.net.
I grew up in the South and have lived in Washington, D.C., Boston, upstate New York, France, and Ukraine. I'm currently based in central Illinois.
