About

Technologist. Writer and editor. Shakespearean actor

Save time -- you can expect at least 95% satisfaction with my first drafts.

I've been a professional writer and editor since 1991. Before that, I was a software developer. I also collect free (as in "freedom") operating systems such as various distributions (distros) of GNU/Linux and FreeBSD. I use OpenOffice.org or LibreOffice depending on which OS I boot. They're similar enough so I can switch from one to the other with ease. I've also found secrets that even users of the dominant office suite don't know.

I began my writing career in 1991 as Associate Editor of PC Digest, which would later take on the name PC World Philippines to align with its US affiliate. My title then changed to Technical Editor. I wrote the monthly column PC Clinic, which offered troubleshooting tips to readers' computer woes. My other writing consisted mainly of articles explaining, in layman's terms, new technologies.

Work Terms

My time zone is GMT+0800, so my working hours are 0100GMT to 0900GMT, although I can teleconference at other hours. And speaking of which, I prefer Google+ Hangout or appear.in although Skype is also OK. Preferred payment is through PayPal.
