I am joint English/Italian and have been working as a developer with Microsoft Technologies for over 20 years. I started off in 1996 with HTML on the Microsoft Redmond campus (2 months permit to work in the US), then moved permanently to Italy working with classic ASP creating Online Banking systems. Then many years with ASP.Net forms and professional large corporate DMS (SharePoint portal services). I then moved to ASP.Net MVC. Always using SQL Server and its supporting tools. The next thing to learn could be ReactJS.NET on ASP.NET Core!
I will describe my last project: a multi-store ecommerce solution using NopCommerce 3.9. a) Customized UI creation - b) Web api for ERP integration - c) Scheduled program with T-SQL scripts to import data from previous ecommerce system to the new - d) Plugins for two new payment methods - e) Almost 2 months coding to customize the product: extended the database, document upload, basic DMS, workflow and customized annual discounts by role - f) Creation of topic pages (also used Umbraco) - g) Customization of the messages templates - h) SEO integration - i) Reporting services integration with personalized dashboards and lots of drill down reports for each store!
