Specialties -- Current focus is dual:
*Virtualization: VMware vCenter and ESXi - have built and managed multiple 6.5, 6.7 and now 7.0 vCenters with as many as 250 Cisco UCS B and C-Series hosts. Manage all aspects of hardware provisioning and configuration as well as installing and configuring vCenter, ESXi, FC and NFS datastores, and other components. Manage day-to-day operations, capacity and lifecycle planning, and troubleshooting various issues. Have performed cross-cluster and cross-vCenter VM migrations. **Recently upgraded UCS firmware on 5 UCS domains and over 150 B-Series (M3, M4 and M5) blades, and upgraded ESXi to latest build where appropriate. I have been working with VMware off and on since ESXi v1.1, and on a daily basis for over 4 years. I recently completed the VMware Fast Track v6.7 intensive training and will be testing for a VCP Certification very soon.
*Networked Storage: SAN/NAS design and mgmt. - over 15 years experience with SAN design, storage provisioning and capacity planning; data protection, replication, backup, and disaster recovery. Strengths with EMC, NetApp, IBM, Cisco, Brocade, Commvault. Very strong experience with EMC Clariion, VNX, VMAX, XtremIO and Unity arrays, as well as NetApp C-DOT on 2-6 node clusters and Pure Storage. Have had responsibility for over 10 PB of data storage.
Work Terms
I am located in the US Eastern Time Zone, but off hours work is not out of the question. I will only give flat rate project estimates with sufficient information. Hourly rate is somewhat negotiable under the right circumstances.
