Hello!
My name is Derrick Le. I am a freelance artist located in Chicago, IL, and I have a BFA in Illustration from the American Academy of Art (2016).
I like to work in colored pencils, and then transfer them over into Photoshop.
I have taken a graphic design class, a typography class, a concept art class, and have portrait work experience.
What I dream to do is create art for children's books, but I am always open to all projects and jobs.
Other random facts about me:
- Gamer: I love video games. I get lots of inspiration from them, and I also have a pretty large background knowledge about gaming aspects (environment, creatures, and geek culture).
- Color: I have been praised for my eye for color. I am good at finding good color palettes, and putting together combinations that wouldn't be normally used.
- Animals: Animals are a huge influence in my work. I like to draw cartoons, and my main characters tend to be animal mascots. These mascots tend to work very well for product designs.
