Professional English Teacher & Language Tutor | Learn, Improve, Communicate with Confidence
I am an English Teacher and Language Tutor with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Literature from Machakos University and approximately five years of full-time teaching experience. I am passionate about helping learners improve their English communication, grammar, writing, reading, vocabulary, and conversational confidence.
My teaching style is supportive, patient, practical, and learner-centred. I adapt lessons to suit each learner’s level, goals, and preferred learning pace. I can support students with general English, ESL, reading comprehension, academic writing, creative writing, proofreading, copywriting, English literature, communication skills, and IELTS preparation support.
I am fluent in English, Kiswahili, and Luo, and I also offer Kiswahili tutoring as a supplementary service.
In addition to teaching, I have completed short courses in Technical Writing, Digital Marketing, and Social Media Management. I am also skilled in Canva, Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel, WordPress, and social media management tools.
I am reliable, organised, friendly, and committed to helping every learner make meaningful progress. My goal is to make learning clear, engaging, and practical while helping clients build confidence in both written and spoken English.
Work Terms
I provide professional, reliable, and personalised English language teaching and tutoring services tailored to each client’s learning goals and level.
My standard rate is $25 per hour, although fixed-price arrangements may be discussed for longer-term tutoring, writing, proofreading, or other language-related projects.
I am available for online lessons and remote projects, with scheduling arranged according to mutual availability. I communicate clearly and promptly through Guru and provide regular updates where required.
For tutoring, clients are encouraged to share their learning goals, current level, and areas they would like to improve before the first session so that lessons can be appropriately prepared.
For writing, proofreading, copywriting, or editing assignments, the scope of work, deadline, and expected deliverables will be agreed upon before work begins.
Reasonable revisions are welcome where necessary to ensure that the agreed requirements have been met.
I value professionalism, confidentiality, respectful communication, punctuality, and high-quality work. Payments should be processed securely through Guru’s approved payment system.
For scheduled lessons, advance notice is appreciated if a session needs to be rescheduled or cancelled.
I am open to both short-term and long-term working relationships and am happy to discuss customised arrangements based on your learning or project needs.
