I’ve been working in admin and copywriting in various industries over the last few years, most notably for a major visual effects company based in Soho, London. Working in PR, the ability to proofread, understand technical elements and create a range of consumer friendly articles was something I’ve enjoyed immensely. After more recently working in financial admin in the City, I’ve since yearned to return to a more copywriting orientated role.
I am skilled in reading and understanding the tone of a project, in finding its voice and how it should come across to the reader. Having worked in a number of media related industries, I understand about working to time constraints, working to briefs and writing copy that is easy to read, eye catching and concise. I have experience in writing copy for websites ranging from reviews, front page blurb to whole page layouts. I’ve also written monthly internal and external newsletters, staff biographies and publicity material for film, TV and music videos.
I now spend my time between the UK and Spain and I’m currently working on various projects that include: advertorial content for a luxury beauty salon, optimising less-than-perfect Spanish to UK online machine translations and translation mistakes in the Spanish service and tourism industry and property descriptions for an online portal.
Quickly understanding and honing in on the tone of a project is something I believe I have a particular skill for. Forming a solid plan of action to get your requirements achieved and your tone across is a priority. Keeping it interesting while informing your readers is the most important part of my job.
