Turning complex ideas into content people actually read.
Suleiman Immubarak Nasur is a journalism-trained writer and content creator based in Nairobi, Kenya, specializing in content writing, copywriting, and script writing for digital and broadcast audiences. His path into writing began the moment he stepped onto campus, and it continued to the newsroom and production studio rather than behind a desk. As a producer/director intern at Kenyatta University Television, he wrote and produced the script for the university's 57th graduation ceremony commercial and directed live news segments, learning firsthand how much precision it takes to turn a message into something an audience actually feels. That experience shaped how he approaches every piece of writing since: get the facts right first, then find the words that make people care. As an online writer and script writer at Writers Hub, he sharpened that instinct further, researching trends, verifying sources, and producing content across formats and deadlines without letting quality slip.
One moment that stayed with him was directing a live news segment where a last-minute script change had to be rewritten and delivered on air within minutes a small but telling lesson in staying calm, precise, and audience-focused under pressure, a mindset he now brings to every writing project, deadline or not.
Outside of writing, Suleiman is an avid reader who enjoys critically analyzing written work, mentors young people through community programs, and values the kind of team building and collaboration that comes from working closely with others toward a shared goal. He's driven by curiosity, honesty, and a belief that good writing should always serve the reader first, never the writer's ego.
He is fluent in English (C1-C2) and Kiswahili, comfortable working independently or as part of a team, and currently offers his writing and content services on a freelance basis bringing the same discipline, credibility, and care to every client project that he once brought to a newsroom under deadline.
Work Terms
Hours of Operation
I'm based in Nairobi, Kenya (East Africa Time, UTC+3), and am typically available Monday through Saturday, 6:00 AM–10:00 PM EAT. I keep flexible hours to accommodate clients in different time zones, including US and European working hours, and I'm happy to schedule calls or check-ins outside standard hours with advance notice. I aim to respond to all messages sooner.
Payment Terms
For new clients, I require a 30% deposit before starting work, with the remaining balance due upon completion and delivery of the final draft. For larger or multi-part projects, I'm also happy to work on a 40-30-30 structure: 40% deposit to begin work, 30% at an agreed milestone (such as delivery of a first draft or completion of a project phase), and the final 30% upon completion and approval. This keeps progress steady and payments aligned with delivery throughout longer engagements. Revisions within the agreed project scope are included; additional revisions or changes to scope are billed at my hourly rate.
Preferred Communication Style
I communicate clearly, promptly, and professionally, and I prefer to agree on project details, scope, and deadlines in writing before work begins, so expectations are clear on both sides. Guru's messaging system is my primary channel for project discussions and file sharing, and I'm also comfortable with email or WhatsApp or a scheduled call for more detailed briefs. I believe good communication prevents most problems before they start, so I check in proactively with progress updates rather than going quiet until a deadline.
