Geoff is an excellent developer. From the start, he exhibited a strong understanding of the requirements and desired solution and already had a clear strategy of how he would execute the project.
He followed the requirements and specifications document very thoroughly and produced exactly what was needed, plus some additional functionality and benefits that we did not expect.
Geoff also has a keen understanding of project scope and always kept me informed about the burn rate. I never felt uncertain about the state of the project with his timely status updates and options he presented along the way.
He was very responsive and quick to apply any change requests and resolve bugs during testing. He also was sure to avail himself for the final moments before code drop to work out any last-minute issues.
My only criticism of his performance on this project is more a result of his experience than his capabilities. There were some minor code cleanup and learning curve issues. But Geoff's code is solid and he was more than willing to expand his knowledge base to implement new methods and techniques well within the project schedule.
If you are considering a developer within the same rate range, look no further. You need to utilize Geoff's unique blend of talents and skills - rare amongst programmers in this range. With more experience and perhaps immersion in a big, juicy project, Geoff will surely succeed.
