Shape & Shadow is a creative animation studio based in Providence, RI. Our work uses mixed media and stop-motion animation techniques to bring your story to life.

Shape & Shadow is the animation studio of artist and director Hayley Morris. Shape & Shadow specializes in mixed media and stop-motion animation techniques to tell stories that unfold through layered textures, hand crafted details, and inventive storytelling. Our projects range from commercials, social media spots, music videos, projection design, miniature fabrication and short form animation for documentaries and feature films.

Shape & Shadow’s recent projects include animated tour visuals for The Smashing Pumpkins ‘Shiny and Oh So Bright Tour’, a music video for Sesame Street, and an animated promotional video for the non profit Trickle Up. Past clients include, Samsung, Hewlett Packard, Kate Spade, Burt’s Bees and many more. Hayley has a passion for working with musicians and has created music videos for Iron and Wine, The Smashing Pumpkins, Explosions in the Sky, Grammy-award winning violinist Hilary Hahn, and pianist Hauschka.

Hayley also teaches animation at The Massachusetts College of Art & Design and The Rhode Island School of Design ( RISD.)
