I provide copyediting and proofreading services for small businesses, self-publishing authors, and individuals who need help polishing their writing projects.

You have great ideas. You’ve written a proposal, résumé, blog post, or novel, and you’re ready to share it with the world. It’s exciting when you submit your work! But after you hit that send button, you notice a typo. As you keep reading, you find more errors in your work. It’s so frustrating! You worked so hard to get your document just right, and now all you see are the flaws. You start to worry that your clients will notice the imperfect writing. Or your boss. Your blog followers. The hiring manager.

You know your topic, business, or field inside out, but that error-filled document you just turned in damages your credibility. All your hard work feels like a waste.

We’ve all been there. We know that joke, “I do my best proofreading after I hit send.” It’s a horrible feeling.

Hi. I’m Holly Akins, a certified copyeditor and proofreader. As a graduate of the Proofreading Academy and Proofread Anywhere, I’m trained to spot errors in documents. I know the tedious grammar and punctuation rules, so you don’t have to. Spend your time doing what you love and leave the proofreading to me. Work Terms

I'm available between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST. I prefer to use the SafePay invoice method for all projects.

I am comfortable with the Chicago Manual of Style, MLA, and APA style guides. I will happily work with a house style guide if you have one.

I am unable to accept .pages files at this time. Please send only Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or PDF documents.
