I am a Chartered Professional Engineer with an Honors degree in both Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Technology. I have 13 years’ experience in both product design and project management having worked for companies that both design and manufacture their own mechanical equipment and also develop complete processing plants.
I have been involved with all project phases from tender applications, conceptual through to detailed engineering and drawing creation, manufacture, procurement, construction management, commissioning and brownfields upgrade works. Industries include minerals processing, gas, waste to energy and materials handling projects throughout Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, USA, Africa, Kazakhstan and Mexico. I have also spent 2 years’ designing earthmoving related equipment and components.
More recently I have developed and brought to market a small injection molded plastic pet product and a high end car mounted bicycle rack made from aluminium; gaining experience with consumer product development, 3D printing, packaging design, crowdfunding, marketing, social media, advertising and Patent Applications.
I have experience working both solo and also managing teams of up to 25 people. I pride myself on being highly motivated, efficient and a problem solver capable of thinking ‘outside the box’. I am a 3D modelling and design specialist with licensed copies of Autodesk Inventor, Simulation, Solidworks and AutoCAD on a very capable workstation. I have my own 3D printer and consider myself an expert at developing products using FEA and 3D printing technologies.
