About

I love all things gaming! My knowledge, experience, and passion for games is reflected in my work. Examples at www.GameSurge.weebly.com

I'm a 31 year old happily married father of 3 girls. Primarily a console gamer, currently loving my PS4 and Vita. RPG's are my favorite genre, but I also like action, adventure, platformer, and strategy games.I will play any genre if the game's good, but those are my favorites.

I've been playing games since the Atari, but it was with the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) that I really began delving into gaming as a full blown love affair. In fact, I have very vivid memories of taking my Atari 2600 out into the backyard with my brothers and using it as the controls for our imaginary spaceship. Once we grew tired of that, we did what all kids do.... smashed it to bits with the baseball bat of course! That was the end of our Atari days. As you can imagine, my dad wasn't eager to buy us the next gaming console after what we did to our Atari.

All the classic Mario games, and EVERYTHING from SquareSoft (particularly Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy, and Super Mario RPG) really engaged me in a way that I had never known before. It's all been down hill from there. Every system that came out I had to own. Same with most new games (that I could afford anyway). Currently I do the bulk of my gaming on PS4, PS3, Vita, and the WiiU. Feel free to add/contact me, my console ID is Rendermonk.

I received my A.S. degree from FullSail University in Computer Animation. So I also have a working knowledge of what it takes to make these imaginative and immersive games I spend so much of my time playing and reviewing. I've been stuck in Florida (not a hotbed for the game developer community) for the last 10 years, but am right on the verge off making the big move to Washington State. Get ready west coast, here I come!
