Jade, a mother and grandmother, is also a poet, story teller and youth motivational speaker on the subjects of Character Plus, accountability, community activism and non-violence. She has 16 years of experience in urban education, grades pre-K-5, including 13 of those years as an elementary school library assistant. After working in education, Jade started her small business, Afrotique, which creates and sells her original poetry in the form of poetry plaques.
