Backend developer, open-source hacker

I am a French hacker based in Paris, passionated by open-source and new challenges. I have 6+ years of experience with C++ and I am comfortable with Python, PHP and Javascript.

Though in love with C++, I am a versatile developer able to adapt quickly to existing projects and other languages. I got a crush on Python and had some dates with PHP and Javascript. I am very used to large codebases and to the constraints of business regarding delivery time and deployment costs. I like to learn and debate about distributed systems. I am the backend guy, providing the frontend with a solid base upon which you can build beautiful products.

My experience can be summed up around two main jobs:
- 3 years in a big industrial company, kown as Dassault Systèmes, as a C++ developer, working on a closed source project based on an open source specification (the Modelica language).
- 3 years in a small online poker company, WINAMAX, working exclusively with open-source software, as a versatile developer, but mainly C++, with a strong "DevOps" part. Though small in regard of the employees, WINAMAX in the market leader in France. The whole technical department bathes in the hacker culture. The CEOs are still coders themselves. Awesome time with awesome people.

I believe that software is not made of code but of the people who use it. Writting code is always about helping another human being to achieve a goal, wether this person is a client, a fellow developer or an end user.

Work Terms

I prefer a first contact by email, but I am open to Skype sessions afterwards. My preferred work time is Paris working hours (GMT+1).
