About

I want to help fellow writers succeed by making their writing clear and powerful.

Hi, I'm Jess, and I've been writing for as long as I could hold a pencil. I just recently graduated cum laude from Emerson College in Boston, MA, and am now in progress toward my Master of Library and Information Science to become a children's librarian. I'm on the second draft of my novel and have had three stories published: a flash fiction story in East Coast Ink, a creative nonfiction essay in the Merrimack Review, and a short story that is a finalist in a writing contest hosted by Defenestrationism.

I was most recently a content writer for the marketing company Vivial and a book reviewer for Indie Reader, a website that promotes and reviews self-published books. Since October 2014 I worked as a reviewer for Graphic Novel Reporter, a website that connects readers with new graphic novels. Between Indie Reader and Graphic Novel Reporter, I've reviewed everything from philosophical texts proving the existence of God to the newest Harley Quinn novel. As an editor, I've worked on romance novels, financial articles, short stories, and a children's book. Some editing jobs required no more than basic proofreading, while others needed entire passages rewritten with or without the author's input. As an editor, I can help authors polish their ideas into something that makes them proud.

When I'm not writing, reading, and editing, I'm usually baking. Baked goods, especially when brought into work on a Monday morning, make people happy. Whether through baking or through editing, it's my goal to help people smile and succeed.
