About

We strives to help others achieve their own version of “home” without breaking the bank. Our homes should be our “safe place” where we go to recharge, relax, and rejuvenate.

I’ll skip to all the good stuff because lets be honest, who has time to read another boring bio. I always knew I wanted to be an Interior Designer even before I knew what Interior Design was. So, let’s fast forward through the carefree childhood days and awkward teenage years to the glorious days of college. My journey to become an Interior Designer began at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, PA. Four awesome years were saturated with color theory, 20/20 design, AutoCad, lighting design, textiles, and many other design courses that blossomed my passion for design. Along the way I also added a minor in Art Studio to my studies, because truth be told, if I couldn’t be an Interior Designer I would be a starving artist. Before I knew it, I was walking across the stage to accept my Bachelor degree. I was on my way to fulfilling my dreams!

Upon graduating, I almost immediately began a career in design…focusing on kitchens and baths. I was obviously young and “green,” but I worked with an amazing gentleman who forgot more about design than I had ever learned.(Here’s a shout out to you, Chuck!) I grew by leaps and bounds as a designer, learning to apply what I learned in college as well as the “real world ” knowledge from Chuck.

Eventually, the time came for me to move on and I continued my career as an Interior Designer at a small family owned business. It was a refreshing change and a whole new learning experience that enabled me to broaden my portfolio and my ability as a designer. But alas, the winds of change struck again.

After seven years in the design field working as an employee, it was time for me to strike out on my own. I had gotten married, had a baby, and bought a house older than dirt, so a nine to fiver no longer worked for my family and I. It was now or never. I took the leap and Jessica Lehman Design was created.
