I am am a US citizen currently residing in Canada and am authorized to work for any employer in both the US and Canada. I bring together over 15 years of professional experience in HR, payroll, bookkeeping, and administration, with a unique blend of skills in writing, editing, and music. My career has always centered on accuracy, organization, and communication, whether managing budgets of over three-quarters of a million dollars, creating polished reports in Excel, or proofreading critical documents to ensure clarity and professionalism.

From the very beginning of my career, I discovered a simple truth: I enjoy bringing order to complexity. Whether it’s reconciling accounts down to the last cent or reworking a piece of writing until it flows smoothly, I find satisfaction in precision and problem-solving. In HR and administration, this meant making sure staff were paid correctly and policies were clear. In bookkeeping, it meant ensuring that financial data told an accurate and honest story. And in writing, it has always meant respecting language so that ideas are communicated with clarity.

I hold two Master’s degrees: one in Arts Administration and Cultural Entrepreneurship, and another in Music and Culture. These studies sharpened both my analytical and creative skills. They gave me the ability to research deeply, write thoughtfully, and approach projects with both structure and imagination. My academic background also connects to my lifelong love of classical music, which continues to inspire both my work ethic and creativity.

My values are simple but steady: integrity, reliability, and respect for details. I believe that trust is built through follow-through, delivering work on time, communicating clearly with clients, and treating every project with the same care. Having worked in leadership roles in HR and administration, I know that accuracy isn’t just about numbers on a page; it’s about people being able to depend on you.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, writing, and immersing myself in music. Classical music, in particular, is not only a professional specialty but also a personal passion. I host a weekly radio show on a community station, and continue perform semi-professionally. I love getting lost in the stories of movies and tv shows. I also host pub trivia once a week, which is a fun outlet to meet new people!

Work Terms

I am available during evenings and weekends, with the exception of Canadian statutory holidays. Each year, I also observe a winter break in alignment with my employer’s holiday schedule. In addition, if I am on vacation with my FT employer, I will also be taking a vacation from Guru work.

All projects are billed in USD through Guru’s secure payment system. For hourly work, time is tracked and invoiced weekly. For fixed-price projects, an initial milestone deposit is required before work begins, with the balance released upon completion. Larger projects may be divided into multiple milestones to ensure clarity and progress for both parties.

I value clear, responsive communication and adapt to each client’s preferences. Whether by e-mail, phone, text, or Zoom, I’m flexible and happy to use whichever channel works best for you. My goal is to keep projects moving smoothly with regular updates, ensuring you feel confident about both the process and the results.
