Jodi Ann Walukonis grew up in Muskegon, Michigan on the sand dunes and shores of Lake Michigan. Graduating from Indiana University with a degree in Multi-Cultural Elementary Education, education has been a constant theme throughout her career. Simultaneously the gypsy in her heart fueled a necessity to travel the globe.
While in the travel industry from 1979 to 1986 Jodi resided in 17 countries, on 13 islands, in 70 locations. Grateful for opportunities those years presented in Europe, the Caribbean, Mexico, Africa and several areas in the United States, Jodi resided in Florida since1986, moving to Michigan in 2021.
From 1990 to 2010 Jodi published over 200 articles or projects locally and internationally spanning topics like education, gardening, holistic health, travel, and volunteerism. Her images enhance many of her works.
Academically, Jodi wrote an Activity Book that matched ninth grade Life Management textbooks to local resources of Manatee County, FL that included their Anti-Bullying Program. She also wrote passages for the Florida Assessment Project at the Florida Center for Reading Research in Tallahassee, FL.
Jodi developed the Generational Grief series of three books (Adult, Teen, Child).

Jodi contributed as a correspondent and photographer for the Sarasota Herald Tribune, then a New York Times newspaper, from 2006 to 2012.
