Born and raised in Mexico City for most of his life, Jose discovered his passion for filmmaking towards the end of high school. Although he had always been an avid movie watcher, the idea of becoming a director only got into his head after watching "The Dark Knight" in July 2008.

On November 2009 he shot his first short film entitled "Natural Insanity" as part of a high school contest, which got elected as one of the 5 finalists and was screened at the Teatro San Benito Abad on January 2010. Immediately after high school, Jose went to New York city to study at the New York Film Academy, where he learned most of his skills and directed several short movies as part of his learning experience including "Hush Child Hush" "Blood Legacy" and "Two Worlds". With these projects he began to experiment with his enjoyment of dark themes and complex psychological stories along with his new acquired knowledge of real script-writing and filmmaking techniques. He also worked in several other crew positions for over 20 short films made by his teammates.

By the end of the 1 year program, Jose graduated with his thesis film "Ytinas" which was screened on the Scranton Horror Film Festival that same year. On July 2013 Jose began principal photography for his first feature film "The Great Art of Being" which concluded filming in August.

On 2014 Jose returned to Mexico and began working as a freelancer and editor. Shortly after he joined Sinister 7, a collective of friends and filmmakers interested in creating innovative projects and original content within Mexico for a universal audience.
