I'm Joseph, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-T) based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with 8+ years of experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis. I currently hold a senior role at a leading global professional services firm, where I work across financial reporting, financial analysis, and financial process reviews for corporate organizations, donor-funded projects, and NGOs.

My path into this work started with a simple belief: good financial information shouldn't be confusing or intimidating. A business owner, an NGO finance officer, or a startup founder should be able to look at their numbers and actually understand what's happening, not just receive a spreadsheet full of figures they have to take on faith. That belief has shaped how I work, whether I'm preparing a set of financial statements, building a budget model, or reviewing a client's financial processes: I explain what I'm doing and why, not just hand over a finished file.

I value accuracy, confidentiality, and clear communication above almost everything else in this line of work. Numbers carry real consequences, whether it's a donor deciding on future funding, a bank assessing a loan application, or a founder deciding whether to hire. I take that seriously on every engagement, no matter the size.

Outside of work, I'm a keen football and F1 fan, I value time spent with family and friends, and as a devout Catholic, my faith plays an active role in my life.

I'm now building out my independent freelance practice alongside my full-time role, and I'm looking forward to working with clients who value precision and want a partner who treats their financial data as carefully as I do.

Work Terms

Availability: I currently work full-time in a senior finance role, so I take on freelance projects around that schedule, primarily evenings and weekends, East Africa Time (GMT+3). I'm upfront about realistic turnaround times when we discuss a project so there are no surprises.

Communication: I respond to messages within 24 hours on working days. For active projects, I prefer to keep communication on this platform for a clear record, with a video/voice call available if a project benefits from a live discussion.

Turnaround time: Typical delivery is 3 to 7 business days depending on project scope and complexity, confirmed upfront before work begins. Rush requests may be accommodated for an additional fee where feasible.

Payment: For fixed-price projects, I typically request agreement on scope and price before starting, with payment processed through the platform's standard payment protection. For larger or multi-stage projects, I may request payment in milestones tied to specific deliverables.

Revisions: Each project includes an agreed number of revision rounds, confirmed at the start. Changes outside the original agreed scope are treated as a new request and quoted separately.

Confidentiality: All client financial data is handled with strict confidentiality. I'm happy to sign a client's own NDA if required.
