Hi, I'm Jovita Serrao, and I wear many hats, proudly.

I'm a Career Counsellor, Emotional Intelligence Coach, and Parenting Educator. I'm also a university professor, a TEDx speaker, a published author, a Co-Founder, and most importantly , a mother to a wonderfully curious little girl who reminds me every single day why the work I do matters.

My Journey
I began my career in academia, spending over a decade as an Assistant Professor in Electronics and Telecommunication. Teaching wasn't just a job for me, it was a calling. Watching students go from uncertain freshers to confident professionals gave me a sense of purpose I couldn't find anywhere else. Along the way, I pursued a Master's in Engineering and graduated as a Gold Medalist, proof that passion and persistence always pay off.

But I noticed something that textbooks never addressed. Students weren't just struggling with syllabus, they were struggling with self-doubt, career confusion, and emotional overwhelm. That realisation pushed me to go beyond the classroom.

I co-founded Career Pravaas, a venture dedicated to helping individuals discover careers aligned with their personality, interests, and aptitude. I've since conducted numerous workshops for students and professionals, helping them unlock their potential and navigate life's transitions with clarity and confidence.

My TEDx talk on how to mend a broken heart wasn't just about romantic loss, it was about emotional resilience, healing, and how deeply our inner world shapes our outer success. That talk crystallised what I believe at my core: emotional health and career fulfilment are inseparable.

I then channelled those beliefs into my book, From Learning to Leading: A Growth Mindset Blueprint for Graduates, available on Amazon Kindle. It's a honest, humorous, and heartfelt guide for anyone navigating the leap from college to corporate life.

The Person Behind the Professional
Outside of work, I'm a mother to a four-year-old who asks approximately 400 questions a day, and I love every single one. Parenting in today's world is both beautiful and bewildering, and I often share reflections on this journey, blending real humour with real lessons.

I'm also a proud Harry Potter fan who genuinely believes in the magic of storytelling to educate, inspire, and ignite imagination. That belief shapes everything I do, from coaching sessions to workshops to the way I write.

Work Terms

Hours of Operation
I work Monday through Friday, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM IST. Sessions can be scheduled in advance via mutual agreement. I typically respond to all messages and enquiries within 24 hours on working days. Flexibility is available for clients in different time zones, please mention your availability when reaching out and we can find a time that works for both of us.

Session Format
All sessions are conducted virtually via Google Meet. Each session is one-on-one, confidential, and tailored to your specific goals. Session duration is typically 60 minutes unless otherwise agreed upon. Workshop and group sessions are available on request for institutions, corporates, and community organisations.

Preferred Communication Style
I prefer clear, respectful, and open communication. Initial project discussions are best held via Guru.com messaging to keep everything documented and transparent. I appreciate clients who share their goals and concerns openly, the more honest you are, the better I can serve you.
