New to Guru but not new to freelancing. Your need is my challenge. I have a passion for excellence, and for discovering the full potential of every opportunity. I love the "life" inherent in creativity and have found a home in words - I thrive on their power, their ability to teach, develop or paint pictures and tell stories that change lives.As a published author (Judah Raine is my pen name) I have been able to indulge my own creativity. As an editor I able to work with words and with people to "grow" their gifts and talents, or to add polish and purpose.
I have also expanded my services on request to include cover art and formatting for both e-books, including Amazon Kindle, as well as print, e.g. CreateSpace, and will assist clients with uploading to these platforms and expediting the process if this is requested.
I have degree in Communications and English, with Psychology (including HIV/AIDS Care and Counseling) as a sub major. I have three books published and am currently working on an historical series. I am experience in editing as well as cover creation and some marketing for writers. Currently I am also a freelance editor for Prism Book Group, Devine Destinies and Vinspire Publishing, and previously freelanced for both Astraea Press and Secret Cravings Publishing until their closure. In addition, I also have independent authors on my client list.
Work Terms
I prefer, wherever possible, to bid on a total project fixed sum basis because I believe this allows for a clearly defined scope of work and fixed deliverables that is beneficial to both myself and my cients. If necessary, I may request a sample of a manuscript to better determine an accurate bid. Additional work that may emerge will be negotiated before continuing with a project.
I communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and to resolve any queries as they arise. I have access to Skype, but prefer to use emails for communication purposes as they provide a good archive of project history and written communication protects both myself and my clients.
My focus is always working closely with clients in order to realize their expectations for the project.
