Traditionally published author and freelance editor
Hi, I'm Marilize! I am an agented author represented by Nina Leon at Perez Literary & Entertainment. My debut fantasy, A Wish So Deadly, is coming in March 2026 with Scholastic UK.
Over the past five years, I've been lucky enough to achieve a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature & Creative Writing, sign professionally as an author with my dream literary agent, and sell my debut fantasy series in a two-book deal with a world-renowned publisher.
In pursuit of making writing my full-time career, I currently offer the following services:

Professionally, I've interned at a New York literary agency, where I shadowed two literary agents and managed their query inboxes. Beyond the publishing industry, I am a copywriter and content manager for a UK-based marketing agency.
My favourite part of the editorial process is cracking a developmental edit. I enjoy figuring out what makes each character tick, what would strengthen the story, and digging out plot holes! I would love to work across all age ranges, from children's books through YA and adult books.
