Dr. Michele D. Stafford holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with two minors, Education and General Science; a Master’s of Public Administration from Alfred University; and a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration with a concentration in Leadership & Management from Walden University. She holds two certifications: Executive Leadership and Advanced Leadership from the National Society of Leadership and Success. She is a two-time recipient of the New York State Attorney General Triple “C” award. This award is given to individuals who demonstrate Good Character, Commitment, and Citizenship. She is a New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services Certified Instructor.

Dr. Stafford is currently the Deputy Director of the Project Management Office with the New York City Department of Correction. She operationalizes departmental initiatives while working closely with executive leadership on best practices to reinforce safer jails. She takes a unique approach in strategizing the complications and success of hiring, business operations, and the reality of business constraints. Throughout her career, she has cultivated and developed relationships across the five boroughs in New York City; managed $500,000 contracts with City and State offices; led successful collaboratives` with local, city and state stakeholders. She focused on varying and challenging sectors of public service, operation management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning. She understands that the impact of public service is centered on listening to the concerns of the public and identifying solutions to those concerns as an instrumental tool in fostering better relationships with diverse communities and stakeholders. She plans to continue her career in the public sector, playing a part in advancing all efforts towards effective public service, operations and projects while identifying gaps, leveraging key decision-makers and implementing robust solutions.
