Marine Ecologist ~ Science communicator ~ Ocean ambassador
Working as a marine biology researcher at the University of Algarve, I have developed skills in scientific research and article writing, as well as statistics and data visualization.
Beyond the academia, I love to help share powerful messages, as I believe that effective and engaging communication is one of the most powerful world-changing tools.
I am passionate about sustainability and environment protection efforts.
It is always a pleasure to contribute to Eco-friendly projects and help them become a reality. As a scientist, I am currently studying the impacts and prevention of plastic pollution, and have previously worked on the effects of climate change on penguin populations.
I also work as a nature guide (boat trips and adventure sports like canyoning, coasteering, Kayaking, etc.) where I help people to connect with nature in a safe environment.
I have skills in writing (scientific and creative), science communication, exploratory data analysis (using SPSS, Primer, and R), data visualization, sustainable design and graphic design (Adobe Photoshop).
My passion for sustainability and nature has led me on a quest for a more sustainable lifestyle, making my footprint a little bit greener. Since fashion is one of the most polluting industries, I focus on how sustainable fashion, minimalism and clever design can help reduce the ecological impact of our lifestyles. In particular, I like to put my creative juices to use by sewing my own clothes in an effort to make them more humane and environmentally friendly. As a result, I have developed skills in surface pattern designing, sewing and I'm acquainted with the sustainable fashion industry.
