Orna Taub is an expert in Mandarin Chinese and spends much of her time deepening her understanding of China including its language, culture, history, and current affairs.
In recent years, she has regularly studied Chinese at an advanced level with a professional native Chinese teacher and has continually deepened her knowledge and understanding of the Chinese language and culture along with Chinese mentality, habits, and customs.
Orna works in Chinese translation, teaches Chinese, and writes reference books in Chinese for students and businessmen.
When she was 40 years old, she accidently met a Chinese professor of medicine who came to Israel. This meeting ignited a very strong affinity inside of her for China and everything connected to China. This included a huge and unexplained urge to study the Chinese language, culture, and history.
Orna began to learn Chinese on her own with the help of the Chinese professor who became a friend to her. After a short time, she could read and write Chinese along with communicate with the Chinese professor in Chinese. Her fluency in Chinese enabled her to be his right-hand man in everything connected to communication with the Israeli people. Orna was his translator during his beginning lessons in class (Chinese medicine), in his clinical treatments with Israeli patients and in all his needs in everyday life in Israel.
Orna took it as a personal mission in her life to contribute as much as she could to the growing reconciliation between the East and West in the recent decades.
For this aim, Orna teaches Chinese and writes books for students, businessmen and travelers to China in order to enable a more intimate, warm and smooth connection between Western people and the Chinese people. The books for students are all reference books which are written based on her own long experience of learning and teaching Chinese and are all dedicated to enrich their studies and make learning easier.
